RAI Debuts New Corporate Look Post Merger

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The merger of two of the top three tobacco companies keeps bringing about changes, this time to Reynolds American Inc.'s (RAI) branding.

On Thursday, Winston-Salem-based RAI unveiled its redesigned corporate website, incorporating the company's new corporate branding following the acquisition of Lorillard Inc. The change also reflects the addition of the Newport brand to the product portfolio of its subsidiary, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co.

"The recent addition of Newport, the nation's No. 1 menthol cigarette brand, is another exciting milestone for our company in our continuing transformation journey, so it's a very appropriate time to refresh our corporate logo and colors," said Susan Cameron, RAI's president and CEO.

According to the company, RAI's website design has been updated throughout to better reflect the its leadership in transforming the tobacco industry and enhanced competitive position for R. J. Reynolds.

The merger of the No. 2 and No. 3 U.S. tobacco companies closed in June, 11 months after the proposed deal made headlines. As a result of the transaction, Lorillard became a wholly owned subsidiary of RAI, as CSNews Online previously reported.

In addition, RAI's operating companies now have key brands across major industry categories: Newport, Camel, Pall Mall and Natural American Spirit in combustible cigarettes; Grizzly in smokeless tobacco; and VUSE in the vapor market.
