The National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) announced Jennifer Makarsky joined its staff on July 12 as information technology coordinator. In this recently modified position, she provides support in a number of areas, from database administration to network administration to Web site support and HTML coding.
Makarsky earned a bachelor of business administration in computer information systems from James Madison University in May 2005. While in school, she held internships for the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the law firm Becker, Hadeed, Kellogg & Berry, P.C.
In supplier news, Ruiz Foods appointed Gary G. Bell vice president sales and marketing, foodservice.
"Gary's extensive experience in the development and sales of food products to the foodservice channel is a welcome addition to our management team," said Kim Ruiz Beck, vice chairman, Ruiz Foods. "His technical expertise and managerial skills will serve to lead our 'concept inception to dinner table' initiative as we continue to grow our business."
