PCATS Winter Meetings Set for Orlando

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- At the end of this month, PCATS members -- convenience store operators, petroleum marketers, association personnel, state lottery agents, solution providers and suppliers – will meet for the 2008 2008 Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS) Winter Meetings to discuss industry challenges and learn about the latest industry technology standards development and implementation efforts.

This year's event will be held at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando, Fla., on Jan. 21 through 24, 2008.

It is the single industry event specifically designed to address technology standards to improve business processes, reduce costs and increase productivity in the convenience and petroleum retail sector, the association reported.

"PCATS standards continue to gain international recognition and the rate of adoption has increased dramatically over the years," said PCATS executive director John Hervey. "All retailers and suppliers to the industry regardless of membership status in PCATS are invited to attend and help set the direction technology standards will take to solve today's business needs."

The four-day gathering of PCATS Technical and Business Committees will feature valuable peer-to-peer exchanges and informative luncheon speakers.

While PCATS Technical Committees will focus on developments in the areas of device integration, electronic business-to-business (EB2B), point-of-sale (POS)/back office and retail financial transactions, the Business Committees will address certification, implementation, membership and marketing as well as retailer business requirements.

The 5th Annual Winter Meetings offer quality interaction with fellow industry professionals through networking opportunities such as the Tuesday evening group outing at SeaWorld which includes a Shamu Show, reception and a private dinner at the Sharks Underwater Grill compliments of Anheuser-Busch Inc., the association reported.
