Lawrence Moon Honored by NAFEM

NEW ORLEANS -- The North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM) recognized Lawrence Moon, chairman and CEO of Milwaukee-based Lakeside Manufacturing Inc. with its 2003 President's Award.

The presentation took place during The NAFEM Show last week in New Orleans. The award recognizes a non-elected NAFEM volunteer who has worked on behalf of the association.

Moon, an active NAFEM member and volunteer for more than 15 years, "has made countless contributions through committee work in the areas of education, finance and technology," the association said. He currently chairs the association's Information
Technology Advisory Council and has spearheaded industry bar coding efforts.

"Larry's many contributions have helped pave the way for future generations in our industry," said Mike Carpenter, NAFEM president. "His efforts in the technology arena have propelled us into the new millennium."

NAFEM is a trade association of more than 650 foodservice equipment and supplies manufacturers providing products for food preparation, cooking, storage and table service.
