Kwik Trip Automates POS Configuration

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Palm POS client Kwik Trip Inc., based here, completed a chain-wide rollout of Pinnacle’s Symphony.pos manager to its 395 convenience stores, simplifying the process of configuring Palm POS, the Pinnacle Corp. stated.

"POS Manager allows us to very quickly deploy keyboard changes to support our ever changing foodservice initiatives. It’s also very flexible and allows for unique layouts by store if necessary. POS Manager has dramatically reduced the time and cost of keyboard maintenance for Kwik Trip," stated Bruce Snyder of Kwik Trip's IT Retail Systems.

Symphony.pos manager is an enterprise-level solution designed to remotely define and update store-level point-of-sale (POS) configuration files. Kwik Trip is now able to quickly and easily create and distribute group-based configuration settings and PLU boards from the corporate office, utilizing a user-friendly, intelligent web-based graphical user interface.

The implementation provided Kwik Trip with a number of timesaving benefits. The process of managing POS board configurations is simplified using Symphony.pos manager’s intelligent, user-friendly graphical interface, the company stated.

The necessity of managing individual configuration files for each store level register was removed by the preview feature that allows changes to be reviewed at the corporate level before distributing them to the store level, according to Pinnacle Corp. Manually logging into, or traveling to each individual store to implement POS configuration changes is virtually eliminated as well.

Changes to each store are automatically distributed as they are needed. Immediate and continual feedback is provided to indicate the status of each configuration and the store’s compliance with each change, according to the technology supplier.

Kwik Trip operates 395 stores in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa under the banners of Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, Hearty Platter and Tobacco Outlet Plus stores. Kwik Trip has been a Pinnacle client since 1997 and has deployed Pinnacle’s Symphony.pos manager, Palm POS and Journal Manager.
