Fikes Acquires 63-Store Taylor Food Marts

TEMPLE, Texas -- Fikes Wholesale Inc., parent company of CEFCO Convenience Stores, has acquired 63 Taylor Food Mart stores from Taylor Petroleum Co. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

"This agreement truly represents a win-win for all parties involved and we look forward to serving our customers in these new market areas with immediate plans to resupply depleted inventories."

Fikes added that the acquisition of the stores, located in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico, along with Fikes’ purchase of the 69-store Food Fast chain last August has increased its store count to 257 locations in seven states.

The company began business more than 60 years ago as a fuel distributor. It also operates convenience stores in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas.
