E-Z Mart Swings into Action

TEXARKANA, Texas -- More than 250 golfers were on hand last week at the annual Jim Yates Memorial Charity Golf Classic to help E-Z Mart Convenience Stores Inc. raise money for local charities. The golf outing is a tribute to Jim Yates, the founder of E-Z Mart, who died in 1999.

The event, which raised more than $113,000 was held at the Texarkana Country Club. Players competed in 64 four-man teams playing in two flights during the all-day event. Team members included individuals from the E-Z Mart management team as well as different vendor representatives and businesses that work with the company throughout the year.

E-Z Mart operates 420 stores in five states, employing nearly 3,200 people.
