CSNews to Host 2005 Forecast Study Webcast

NEW YORK -- Join Convenience Store News for a 90-minute Webcast on Dec. 14 unveiling the findings of its 2005 Forecast Study, the third annual installment of the only study of its kind in the industry.

Earlier this month, CSNews assembled an advisory council of industry experts, including retailers, suppliers, data partners and analysts, to thoroughly analyze and discuss the 2005 Forecast Study results. These results -- along with analysis from the experts -- offers an insightful look at the coming year in the convenience store industry, as well as key in-store category performance.

"It is the industry's only forward view on where the market is moving, directionally," said Maureen Azzato, vice president, publisher and editorial director of CSNews.

The Dec. 14 Webcast will give industry players the opportunity to preview all of the study's findings.

Special guest speakers include James Russo, director of ACNielsen Retail Services, who will present a macro overview of the general economy, and how this outlook will affect the retail world. From there, Azzato will present the industry forecast. She will be followed by a special presentation from Jeff Morris, president and CEO of Alon USA, a Dallas-based, fully integrated refining and marketing enterprise that operates throughout the Southwest.

Morris oversees ALON USA's businesses -- the Big Spring, Texas refinery; pipeline operations; terminal networks; asphalt production; and branded fuel marketing activities -- with a focus on growth and acquisition opportunities. He is a seasoned professional and former FINA executive with more than 30 years of experience.

“Jeff has been an active member of the Forecast Study Council since its inception in 2002,” Azzato said. “He has wonderful forward-thinking insights to share with the industry. We are honored to have him join us as a guest speaker for this Webcast.”

All participants will receive a complete PowerPoint presentation by e-mail following the event. For registration information, please log on to www.visualwebcaster.com, or contact Pat Manzi at (646) 654-7658.
