CEFCO Fundraisers Earn $100,000 for Charity

TEMPLE, Texas -- The Children's Miracle Network program at Scott & White Hospital here will accept more than $100,000, which was raised through CEFCO convenience store events that included Miracle Balloon sales in stores, a golf tournament and a special concert.

During March and April, Miracle Balloon sales in more than 75 CEFCO locations in central Texas exceeded expectations, according to the company. In early May, the sixth annual Hackers-R-Us golf tournament saw more than 225 golfers at the Mill Creek Golf Course in Salado, Texas. The tournament ended with a silent auction and private concert by Nashville recording artist Jeff Bates.

"CEFCO is a wonderful example of a community working together to help save and improve the lives of children," Lesli Joy Cearley, Children's Miracle Network manager at Scott & White, said in a written statement. "From the associate in the stores, to the vendors, to the CEO -- they care about kids and make great things happen to help children."
