Atlas Oil Co. Holds 3rd Annual Marine Holiday Party

TAYLOR, Mich. -- More than 300 Marines and their families attended the Atlas Oil Co. 3rd annual Marine Holiday Party at Selfridge Air National Guard Base (ANGB) last Saturday. The Atlas Oil tradition began three years ago when the company learned the troops at Selfridge ANGB were unable to afford their annual holiday party due to budget cutbacks. Since then, Atlas Oil team members and several vendor partners have combined efforts to sponsor the event, the company reported.

"This is the least we can do for them and show them our appreciation," said CEO and owner of Atlas, Sam Simon. "I am proud to have team members who are excited to spend their own time giving back to the men and women in uniform who fight for our everyday freedom. This is just a small way to show them our appreciation."

The party included entertainment provided by The Simone Vitale Band and Detroit Country Day Students. Children of the Marines were treated to many different activities such as a bounce house donated by Inflatable Playspaces, crafts, cookie decorating and a special visit from Santa Clause himself. Lucky Marines who participated in a raffle walked away with flat screen TV's, sporting event tickets and many other great prizes.

When asked what his favorite part of the event was, Simon said, "I love being able to see the smiling faces of the Marines enjoying quality time with their loved ones. Atlas Oil is proud to honor these great heroes."
