Best Single-Store Interior Design: Andy’s Express

Best Interior Design
Winner: Andy’s Express, Lincoln, Neb.
Designer: Paragon Solutions

Anderson Auto Group owner Mike Anderson had an existing car lot in Lincoln that seemed to be missing something: a convenience store. Working with Paragon Solutions, Anderson quickly changed this with a 5,125-square-foot brick store that blends his personal connection to Husker red and 1950’s vintage stylings with a modern twist.

The interior of Andy’s Express features black matte ceilings, brushed aluminum accents and scarlet red walls. Muted tile flooring expands the length of the c-store, while the Corner Pub beer cave’s reclaimed wood siding sits upon the walls.

Simplistic signage and vintage scripts carry through the 1950’s vibe both inside and outside the store, where there are 12 gas lanes and a drive-thru to service those customers who don’t have much time on their hands to shop.

“While the cars on [Mike’s] lot might be his primary focus, customers can’t help but take notice of the modern throwback c-store to a time when cars were works of art and life was a little simple,” Paragon Solutions said.
