Year in Review: Top People Moves of 2014

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Many convenience store chains saw movement at the top this year as new leaders assumed new roles in the c-suite.

In addition to new titles, industry leaders were honored across the country as among the best in their states and regions, while others decided 2014 was the right time to step back and enjoy the fruits of their labor with well-deserved retirements.

He leads the company his grandparents founded 75 years ago.

6. Valero Will Get a New Chief Exec in May
Current president and COO Joe Gorder takes over the reins from Bill Klesse.

7. Casey’s Terry Handley Appointed President
He will continue to serve in his current role as chief operating officer.

8. RaceTrac President Max Lenker to Retire
He joined the retailer as a company pilot in 1974.

9. Spinx's New President Is First From Outside Founding Family
Stan Storti succeeds Steve Spinks, who remains CEO.

10. Kroger Names New Head of C-store Division
Jeff Parker leads convenience and small format division, as Van Tarver announces retirement.
