Tony Miller Steps In as Acting President at MAPCO

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- This summer has brought a period of transition for MAPCO Express Inc., but the retailer continues with business as usual.

Tony Miller has assumed the role of acting president at Brentwood-based MAPCO. He moved to the position after Igal Zamir, former president, left the company in July. According to a company spokesman, Zamir left to pursue other opportunities and a transition plan was in place.

Since taking the lead, Miller has been meeting with management frequently, and the change has been a "seamless transition," the spokesman added.

Miller previously served as vice president of operations at MAPCO. He joined the company in fall 2009 as vice president of sales and merchandising. Prior to MAPCO, Miller held numerous executive-level positions over a nine-year period with Thorntons Inc. in Louisville, Ky., including senior vice president of sales and marketing. His résumé also includes key sales and marketing assignments with The Coca-Cola Co. in Louisville.

MAPCO is a subsidiary of Delek US Holdings Inc. It operates convenience stores in Tennessee, northern and central Alabama, northern Georgia, Arkansas, Virginia, southern Kentucky and northern Mississippi under the MAPCO Express, MAPCO Mart, East Coast, Discount Food Mart, Fast Food and Fuel, Delta Express and Favorite Markets banners.
