Break Time C-stores Get New Leader

COLUMBIA, Mo. — MFA Oil Co., operator of Break Time convenience stores, hired Curtis Chaney as senior vice president of retail. He will be responsible for Break Time and the company's Jiffy Lube franchise locations.

"Curtis brings a proven track record in the convenience store industry. His character, experience and knowledge in the retail environment align very well with the principles and core values of MFA Oil," said President and CEO Mark Fenner. "We feel very fortunate to have Curtis as a key part of our team."

Chaney has 30 years of experience in the c-store industry. In 2000, he joined Champaign, Ill.-based Tri Star Marketing Inc., operator of 55 Super Pantry c-stores, where he served as vice president and chief operating officer until 2012. Previously, he served as a district manager for Speedway SuperAmerica.

In 1984, Chaney graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a business degree. In 2011, he received his MBA from Eastern Illinois University.

Columbia, Mo.-based MFA Oil Co. is a farmer-owned cooperative with more than 40,000 members. It operates Break Time c-stores in Missouri and Arkansas through a subsidiary, as well as Jiffy Lube franchises in central Missouri and Big O Tires franchises in central Missouri and Arkansas. MFA also supplies fuels, lubricants and propane to customers in 13 states.
