J&J Snack Foods Acquires Midwest Bakery

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. — J&J Snack Foods Corp. acquired Hill & Valley Inc., a premium bakery located in Rock Island, Ill.

Hill & Valley is a manufacturer of a variety of pre-baked cookies, cakes, pies, muffins and other desserts to retail in-store bakeries. The company sustains strategic private labeling partnerships with retailers nationwide and has more than $45 million in annual sales.

This acquisition rounds out our in-store bakery offerings by expanding our capabilities and customer base, and provides us a newly constructed facility that has ample capacity for growth and a nimble production process," commented Jerry Law, senior vice president, J&J Snack Foods.

Based in Pennsauken, J&J Snack Foods provides nutritional and affordable branded niche snack foods and beverages to foodservice and retail supermarket outlets. Its principal products manufactured and distributed nationwide include Superpretzel, Icee and Slush Puppie frozen beverages, Luigi’s, Minute Maid frozen juice bars and ices, and Oreo Churros, to name a few.
