GPM Chooses New Moniker for Road Ranger Stores

RICHMOND, Va. — GPM Investments LLC has begun rebranding a Midwest convenience store it acquired last year.

According to The Gazette, new signs bearing the Fas Mart name are going up at former Road Ranger convenience stores in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Marion, Iowa.

Fas Mart is one of Richmond-based GPM's well-known banners. Others in its portfolio are Shore Stop, Scotchman Stores, Young's, Li'l Cricket and BreadBox.

GPM acquired 42 Road Ranger convenience stores with gas and one Subway location in Illinois, Iowa and Kentucky in March 2015, as CSNews Online previously reported.

At the time of the deal, which was announced in December 2014, Road Ranger President David Saporta said the company had been focusing its resources and energies on improving and expanding its network of truck stop and travel center locations in the United States.

"Road Ranger, with its well-deserved reputation in the Midwest region, is a great fit for GPM, allowing us to broaden our exposure in the convenience and fuel channels of business," said GPM President and CEO Arie Kotler in late 2014. "We are excited to maintain this path of expansion as an acquisition based company and we will continue to seek more opportunities to grow strategically."
