United Family Recognizes Partners for Rewards Efforts

LUBBOCK, Texas — The United Family named Smithfield Foods Inc. and Dole Food Co. as recipients of its first Outstanding Rewards Partner of the Year Award. This honor recognizes United Family partners that actively participate and engage in the rewards program, the company said.

The award was announced during the company's second annual partners meeting here on Aug. 30.

"Smithfield and Dole lead the pack when it comes to proactive engagement in our rewards program," stated Robin Cash, loyalty manager for The United Family. "We are grateful to have both of these brands as part of the United family and value their long-standing partnerships."

Smithfield and Dole both participate in every aspect of the United Family's rewards program, including clubs, bonus points, redeeming point items and targeted offers. New club members receive a free Dole salad bag, and members receive $4 off $20 Smithfield purchases. Each brand has seen up to 15 percent redemption rates, significantly higher than the 5 percent United sees on average, according to the company.

The United Family plans to honor deserving partners with the Outstanding Rewards Partner of the Year award each year at its vendor meeting.

United Supermarkets LLC, dba The United Family, operates 73 grocery stores and 33 convenience stores and gas stations under the banners United Supermarkets, Market Street, Amigos, Albertsons Market and United Express.
