Shell's Fuel Rewards Network Kicks Off Second Wave of Launches

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The new Fuels Rewards Network (FRN) program is coming to gas stations in Nashville. The rewards program offered by Shell Oil Co. and Excentus will make its debut in the local market June 25.

Consumers can earn rewards through everyday purchases -- food, clothing, household goods -- which can then be redeemed for fuel discounts at participating Shell stations. The loyalty program is free. They can earn rewards at local restaurants like Romano's Macaroni Grill, and through online merchants from the Online Mall including Bass Pro Shops, BestBuy.com and Sears.com.

The FRN program made its debut in markets like Miami and San Francisco earlier this month. While the different ways to save vary by market, some consumers who have just begun using the program have paid as little as 1 cent per gallon at participating Shell stations by redeeming Fuel Rewards savings they've earned through the FRN program, according to a release. The average consumer savings are 25 cents per gallon.

With the next wave of launches on June 25, the FRN program will be available in more than 50 markets. Additional cities will be rolling out the FRN program each month, with a goal to reach nearly 200 markets by the end of the year.

The FRN program, developed and operated by Excentus, allows consumers to combine multiple rewards offers for savings at the pump. The savings can be redeemed on all grades of Shell nitrogen-enriched gasoline including Shell V-Power Premium Gasoline, and Shell Diesel at participating stations, up to 20 gallons per purchase, per vehicle.

"Shell knows more consumers are looking for a smart loyalty rewards program that can help them save money at the pump without having to jump through hoops or sacrifice their quality of fuel," said Dan Little, Shell North American fuels marketing manager. "That's why teaming up with Excentus on this revolutionary rewards program is so exciting because it empowers Nashville consumers to never pay full price at the pump again."
