Piedmont Petroleum Wraps Up 'Locally Owned, Locally Operated' Campaign

GREENVILLE, S.C. – CITGO marketer Piedmont Petroleum recently concluded its "Locally Owned, Locally Operated" campaign that sought to celebrate 30 years of fueling good and serving Greenville by holding multiple community events.

"We wanted to recognize our friends and neighbors who have been such great customers over the years," said Piedmont Petroleum Vice President Kenneth Cosgrove. "We know our business depends on our loyal patrons, and we wanted to find a way to show them our appreciation and thank them for continuing to support our locally owned stations in Greenville."

Piedmont Petroleum kicked off the campaign in September with a Back-to-School Day for Armstrong Elementary School, during which it donated backpacks and school supplies to students. The company followed that up with a special event to kick off an annual program to raise money and encourage food donations for the Harvest Hope Food Bank's emergency food bank.

The campaign concluded with a Customer Appreciation Day at the Pendleton Street CITGO Corner Mart on Nov. 2. During this event, customers received special offers, including 10 cents off every gallon of fuel. More than 1,000 gallons were sold during the event.

In addition to the fuel discount, which benefited more than 200 customers, the South Carolina Education Lottery attended the event with prizes and free giveaways. Piedmont Petroleum also offered free hot dogs and fountain drinks.

"At Piedmont Petroleum, we have a long-term commitment to being good neighbors in the Greenville community," Cosgrove added. "We love Greenville and look forward to growing right along with our wonderful city in the years to come."
