JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Kathy Bayert has taken the position of director of learning and advisory services at the Network of Executive Women (NEW), where she will develop content for NEW's educational programs and act as an advisor to NEW sponsors and members, supporting the group's efforts to attract, retain and advance women in the consumer packaged goods and retail industry.

Previously, Bayert served as senior manager, organizational effectiveness, for the Sara Lee Corp.’s Organizational Development Global Center of Excellence where she designed and implemented strategic initiatives to build a high-performance culture and launched the Leading Change Model for reorganization across Sara Lee, among other accomplishments. Bayert has also worked as a principal consultant in organizational and change strategy for IBM Business Consulting Services.

A graduate from the University of Texas at Austin with an undergraduate degree in organizational communications, and from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management with a a master of business administration, Bayert began her career as a political consultant and was the campaign manager for several Texas political campaigns.

Heineken
T. Daniel Tearno, senior vice president and chief corporate relations officer at Heineken USA, will step down from his day-to-day position effective Dec. 31. However, he will remain with the company as an advisor on issues such as public policy, government relations and public relations, and will contribute to Heineken's presence in Washington, D.C., the company said.

"As the only person to have held this role in the 16-year history of the organization, Dan has been a pillar of both the company and the industry for three decades," stated Heineken USA President and CEO Dolf van den Brink. "We will miss his leadership and experience on our management team, but are very pleased that he will act as a senior advisor to me on a wide range of public policy issues." At Heineken, Tearno was responsible for placing a responsible consumption message on the company's advertising and product containers; created the first alcohol beverage company partnership with free online taxi booking service TaxiMagic; and created the company's first programs for first ethics training, crisis preparedness and reputation management. Additionally, Tearno served as a member of Heineken's global Corporate Relations Leadership Team, which guided global strategy and the career development of junior and middle managers in the corporate relations function around the world. In the late 1990s, he was a leader in establishing a beer task force at the National Association of Beverage Importers Inc. (NABI) that resulted in the repeal of beer package restriction laws in Florida and Texas. He also served as chairman of the board of directors and the executive committee of NABI, becoming the first beer industry executive to do so.

Manitowoc Foodservice
Mark Richardson has been promoted to the role of vice president, sales strategic and global accounts at Manitowoc Foodservice. His duties will include directing the Advanced Cooking Technology (ACT) sales team and maintaining responsibility for ACT marketing and focusing on strategic direction and business development for 7-Eleven, retail accounts, Starbucks, IHOP Restaurants and Applebee's.

A veteran of the foodservice development industry for more than 20 years, Richardson holds an associate degree in hotel management and hospitality, and most recently, managed the Subway and Dunkin' Donuts brands within Manitowoc Foodservice. He has also worked with TurboChef Technologies, MerryChef Ltd. and Bunzl Catering Supplies in the United Kingdom.

Standex Food Service Equipment Group
A number of promotions have occurred within Standex Food Service Equipment Group.

Kevin Clark, CFSP, will assume the role of president of Standex Cooking Solutions Group, which includes includes APW Wyott, Bakers Pride, BevLes, BKI and Tri-Star. His previous experience includes the position of president of Delfield at Manitowoc Food Service for five years and his most recent role as vice president of strategic and global for the Manitowoc Group. Clark also has experience with Wells/Bloomfield and Middleby Marshall. A business graduate of Capital University, he serves on the board of directors for the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers.

Lyall Newby has been named vice president of sales for the Standex Cooking Group after leading the commercial and national account team in business development and sales globally. He will oversee the APW Wyott, Bakers Pride, BevLes and Tri-Star brands. Newby served as interim vice president of sales during a leadership transition and has previous leadership experience at Middleby International, Yum International, Boston Chicken and McDonald’s.

Scott Jordan has been promoted to president of the Master-Bilt line of refrigerated cabinets, walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, condensing units and refrigeration units. He previously spent 16 years with Baldor Electric in numerous manufacturing, quality assurance, purchasing, finance, strategic planning, plant management, marketing and lean continuous improvement roles before joining Standex FSEG as general manager/vice-president of operations for BKI in 2008. Jordan holds an engineering degree from North Carolina State University and an MBA from Clemson University.

Matt Price will become general manager of BKI, replacing Scott Jordan. He has 19 years of experience with Baldor Electric in sales, sourcing and manufacturing leadership roles, and has spent the past five years leading an engineered-to-order large motor manufacturing facility. He holds an aerospace engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Sysco Corp.
Sysco Corp. announced several new promotions.

Mike Green, executive vice president of food service operations, has been promoted to executive vice president and group president. In his new role, Green will oversee all U.S. and Canada broadline companies, meat companies, SYGMA, FreshPoint, International Food Group, Sysco Guest Supply and Pallas Foods in Ireland. He started his career in 1981 and served in various sales and management positions for 10 years before joining Sysco Food Services of Chicago.

Russell Libby, vice president, general counsel and secretary, has been promoted to senior vice president. Libby, who joined Sysco in 2007 as assistant vice president of mergers and acquisitions and real estate, will continue to oversee Sysco's legal affairs, mergers and acquisitions. He began his career as a corporate associate with Atlanta's Arnall Golden Gregory LLP and has held positions at Liuski International, COFRA Holding A.G and Good Energies Inc.

Brian Beach, vice president and president of Sysco Ventures, has been promoted to senior vice president and will continue to drive the company's pursuit and development of strategic foodservice opportunities, primarily in the areas of restaurant technology and applications. Beach, who joined Sysco earlier this year after holding the positions of senior vice president for administration and business ventures and chief of staff to the president at the University of Florida, started his career in 1991 as a senior consultant for Ernst and Young. He has also held roles at Allen C. Ewing & Co. Investment Bankers, Synagen Capital Partners and SI Ventures.
