JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- The Hershey Company has promoted Brent Cotten to director, customer & industry affairs. In this role, he will represent the company at U.S. trade associations, trade events and customer events. He will also be responsible for U.S. sales meetings.

Cotten began his career with Hershey Foods in February 1992 as a sales representative in the Nashville District. His most recent position, which he accepted in 2007, was director of strategic convenience retailers, a role in which he was responsible for the sales of U.S. strategic c-store customers.

Additech, Inc.
Additech, the outsourced operator of at-the-pump additive and interactive merchandising systems, has hired Farah Jumshyd to head up its marketing department as chief marketing officer.

Jumshyd has considerable experience in additives, car care and lubricants marketing after spending 11 years at Shell Oil Co. as director of business improvement, chief marketing officer (Shell Car Care International), and group manager of innovation.

Aldata
Aldata recently named two new senior management appointments: Kevin Stadler, head of Aldata category optimization products, and Graeme Cooksley, head of international operations. As members of Aldata's corporate management team, both Stadler, who is based in the United States, and Cooksley, based in France, report to Aldata CEO Roy Simrell.

Stadler is responsible for leading the product direction and business activities worldwide for all Aldata category optimization products. He has more than 25 years of experience in retail enterprise software, with former executive roles at JDA, Intactix, and Nielsen.

Cooksley is responsible for all sales and services activities across all product lines outside of North America. A highly experienced enterprise software executive, he formerly held executive roles at Torex Retail, SSA Global Technologies, and Baan.

Convenience Valet
Dave Arensdorf has joined Convenience Valet in the capacity of vice president of sales & marketing. He brings 20-plus years of c-store experience working with Sinclair Oil and most recently, Fas Mart/Shore Stop.

Also within the company, Tom LaManna has been promoted to vice president of merchandising services. He has been with Convenience Valet for the past five years as director of marketing. In his new role, LaManna's primary focus will be developing unbiased category management, planograms and fact-based retail analysis.

DNA Distributors/CIGALECTRIC
DNA Distributors, maker of CIGALECTRIC Electronic Cigarettes, appointed Thomas Hartman as its new senior director of sales. His primary role will be to develop distribution channels in the Southern and Western regions of the United States.

Hartman's industry experience includes more than 23 years at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco and more than 7 years with the McLane Co. More recently, he was with FIN electronic cigarettes as it director of sales and vice president of sales for the convenience channel of trade.

Matrix Capital Markets Group Inc.
Matrix Capital Markets Group Inc. announced the following promotions for members of its Energy and Multi-Site Retail Group:

  • M. Vance Saunders, CPA has been promoted to the position of vice president, where he will be responsible for managing transactions.
  • Sean P. Dooley has been promoted to associate, where he will be responsible for training new analysts. He has also passed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level II exam and is now a CFA Level III candidate.

Matrix's Energy and Multi-Site Retail Group provides transactional advisory services to companies in the downstream energy and multi-site retail sectors including convenience store chains, petroleum marketers, and fuels distributors.

McCain Foods USA
McCain Foods USA has named Catherine Porter as senior manager, customer marketing. In this role, she will help lead McCain's growing appetizers and potato sides business in the convenience store channel.

Porter, who has previous convenience store experience with Sara Lee Foodservice, has more than 15 years of experience creating and implementing marketing plans for food and beverage brands.

Paragon Solutions Inc.
Paragon Solutions Inc. added Bud Moore to its marketing team. He brings 20 years of sales and project management experience, as well as petroleum industry experience in fuel supply, petroleum infrastructure, and foodservice equipment.

Moore currently serves on PEI's Education and Convention Committee and serves as Vice President of the TPCA Wranglers.
