Country Fair & CITGO Rally Around Roar on the Shore

ERIE, Pa. - A charitable rally of bikers and motorcyclists will throttle up this year with support from CITGO Petroleum Corp. and local CITGO marketer Country Fair Inc. The annual event, Roar on the Shore, will bring more than 100,000 bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts from across the nation to the Great Lakes region in northwestern Pennsylvania.

This year's rally will benefit St. Patrick's Haven, a shelter for homeless men, most of whom are veterans.

"As Sisters of St. Joseph, we strive to address the greatest needs of our neighbors," said Sister Mary Fromknecht, director of St. Patrick's Haven. "With the funds raised at this year's rally, we will be able to continue offering shelter to men in the Erie area with more stability than we've ever had. Private donations have always been essential to our operation. We appreciate the generosity of the Roar participants from across the nation, as well as sponsors like Country Fair and CITGO."

The rally will kick off with the pre-Roar Bike Night on July 16, followed by daily motorcycle raffles, vendor merchandise deals and escorted scenic bike rides throughout Erie County, including the "Roar Through History Ride & Raffle," "Thunder on the Isle: The Mayor's Ride" and the "Roar to the Vineyards Poker Run."

Attendees can also enjoy free live entertainment and visit the Country Fair/CITGO booth to receive a $5 CITGO gift card when they sign up for a CITGO Rewards credit card.

Prior to the rally, Country Fair and CITGO will raffle off VIP event passes for customers to enter the pre-parade event, the bike parade and the Rocket 101 beer garden. Additionally, all Country Fair locations in Erie County will be selling official Roar coffee mugs and lighters. All proceeds will benefit St. Patrick's Haven.

"We know what a positive effect Roar has on the local community. We are excited to be part of an event that brings so many different people to Erie," said Country Fair Advertising Manager Stacy Kline. "Our company was founded on the importance of philanthropy, and it's wonderful to return to our roots of giving back to our neighbors."

Since 2007, Roar on the Shore has raised more than half a million dollars for charitable organizations in Pennsylvania.

Country Fair Inc. is a locally headquartered chain of convenience stores operating across three states.

Houston-based CITGO is committed to giving back to the local communities it serves through its network of locally owned CITGO locations. Independent CITGO marketers, such as Country Fair, own and operate nearly 300 CITGO locations in Pennsylvania.
