Speedway, Valero Execs Sign On for NACS Show Discussion

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Executives from Speedway LLC and Valero Energy Corp. will be featured in this year's popular < a href="http://www.csnews.com/search-nacs_show.html">NACS Show general session panel, "A Tale of Two Retailers."

Taking their turn in the spotlight will be Speedway President Tony Kenney and Valero Retail President Gary Arthur. The discussion will be moderated by Joe Petrowski, CEO of the Cumberland Farm Group of Cos.

The discussion will be part of "Business Strategy Day" at the NACS show on Oct. 3. "Ideas 2 Go," a 45-minute video tour of interesting, creative and potentially profitable ideas in the convenience and fuels industry will also be featured as part of the same generals session. This year's NACS Show will run from Oct. 1 through Oct. 4 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

Speedway ranks as the fourth largest convenience store chain, numbering approximately 1,350 stores in seven states throughout the Midwest. It is based in Enon, Ohio and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corp.

Based in San Antonio, Texas, Valero Energy Corp. is a manufacturer and marketer of transportation fuels, other petrochemical products and power. It boasts a portfolio of approximately 5,800 retail and branded wholesale outlets in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean carrying the Valero, Diamond Shamrock, Shamrock, Ultramar and Beacon flags.

The two speakers will be in good company. In April, NACS released its line-up for the opening and closing sessions of the show. Headlining the opening general session will be Bert Jacobs, co-founder and CEO of Life is good. And taking his turn at the podium for the closing general session will be newsman Tom Brokaw.
