Wawa's Southwest Florida Stores to Debut April 23

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Wawa Inc. is pulling off the trifecta of store openings. The convenience store retailer will welcome customers for the first time at three Southwest Florida locations on the same day.

As part of its plan to grow in the Sunshine State, Wawa will hold grand openings at one convenience store in Cape Coral and two in Fort Myers on April 23, according to The News-Press,

The events kick off at 10 a.m. at the new Wawa at 2370 Colonial Blvd. in Fort Myers. The festivities will then move to the Fort Myers store at 12701 S. Cleveland Ave. for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12:30 p.m. Wawa will wrap up the celebrations at 3 p.m. at the Cape Coral location at 1622 NE Pine Island Road.

A special VIP preview will take place April 22 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Colonial Boulevard store. Guests will get a sneak peek of Wawa before the doors open to the public, and have the chance to meet with Wawa's senior management team.

The company began its Southwest Florida hiring effort in February. Wawa plans another six stores across Southwest Florida by 2017, according to the news report.

Wawa, Pa.-based Wawa opened its first store in Florida just outside of SeaWorld Orlando in July 2012. The chain now has a total of 59 stores in the state. 

In all, Wawa owns and operates more than 650 convenience stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Florida.
