Thorntons Teams with Fifth Third Bank Processing Solutions
CINCINNATI -- Thorntons Inc. has signed a three-year contract with Fifth Third Bank Processing Solutions for a comprehensive suite of processing services, including credit, debit and EBT processing as well as gift card services.
"Fifth Third meets our needs because they are an integrated electronic payment processor that can authorize and settle all of our electronic transactions, including major fleet fueling cards. We are very pleased with the level of service and reporting we receive on a daily basis as we focus on interchange management and processing efficiencies," said Chris Kamer, vice president & chief financial officer of Thorntons Inc., which operates throughout the Midwest under the brand name Thorntons QuickCafe and Market.
Kamer added that the company also utilizes Fifth Third Direct, an Internet-based reporting and back-office system that provides the company with electronic access to detailed credit card transactions and robust analytical reporting tools. "We are achieving substantial cost savings by incorporating the Fifth Third Direct system into our settlement and reconciliation processes," said Kamer.
