Tesoro Launches New Credit Card
SAN ANTONIO -- Tesoro Petroleum Corp. will roll out its new Tesoro Platinum MasterCard, issued by Juniper Bank. The card provides rebates good for Tesoro products and the other advantages of a MasterCard. Juniper Bank is a credit-card issuer headquartered in Wilmington, Del.
Cardholders using the Tesoro Platinum MasterCard can earn 3-percent rebates on purchases at Tesoro branded locations; 1-percent rebates on all other (non-Tesoro) purchases made anywhere a MasterCard is accepted, and double rebates for every purchase during the first two months after an account is opened.
Tesoro will discontinue the proprietary Tesoro Gas Card effective Dec. 31, 2003.

Juniper Bank has commenced issuing the Tesoro Platinum MasterCard Card to current Tesoro Gas Card holders meeting the bank's credit criteria and will start accepting applications for the new card. Applications are also available at all Tesoro locations.
