Tennessee Fuel and Convenience Association Names Board

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Fuel and Convenience Store Association (TFCA) named its 2009 board of directors, which will provide strategic direction to the not-for-profit organization, previously known as the Tennessee Oil Marketers Association.

The group of 300-plus member companies represents the interests of local fuel retailers, convenience stores and other related businesses to Tennessee legislators, regulatory agencies, the media and the general public.

Jonathan Edwards, president and CEO of the Edwards Group of Cos., located in Lawrenceberg, Tenn., will serve as the 2009 TFCA president and head of the board of directors. He served three terms on the TFCA board, most recently as senior vice president. He also served as chair of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, and held the position of vice chair of the Lawrence County Joint Community Industrial Development Board since 1999.

Also serving on the 2009 TFCA board of directors are John Jewell IV, Tri-Star Energy, Nashville; Bill Parsons, Parsons Oil Co. Inc., Fayetteville; Wes Carruthers, Downey Oil Co., Maryville; Chris Liposky, Rogers Petroleum Inc., Morristown; Winston Gant, Gant Oil Co. Inc., McMinnville; George Huddleston Jr., Huddleston Oil Co., Murfreesboro; and Steve Isaacs, Pioneer Petroleum Co., Morristown.

Also on the board is immediate past president David Willoughby, Willoughby Inc., Savannah; Mark McBride, Cox Oil Co., Union City; and Allen Hanks, Charles C. Parks, Gallatin.

William C. Kimbro of Tri-Star Energy was named treasurer. Jim Weimar of J. B. Weimar Inc. is assistant treasurer. Chairman of the Next Generation Committee is Rod Issacs of Pioneer Petroleum Co.

Founded in 1929, TFCA remains the number one source of information for and about fuel marketers and convenience stores in Tennessee. TFCA has more than 300 company members.
