TA Offering Truckers More Electronics Items

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America LLC (TA), operator of the TA and Petro Stopping Centers brands, introduced its new Cobra 29 LTD Pro Pack, which contains a CB, external speaker and mic holder, available exclusively at its travel centers.

The company introduced its first three exclusive offerings for truckers last summer: the Cobra 5825LX CB/GPS Bundle Pack; the Magellan RoadMate Commercial GPS, listing TA and Petro locations; and the Rand McNally "Large Scale Motor Carriers' Road Atlas."

Westlake, Ohio-based TravelCenters of America has 244 full-service locations near interstate highway exits in the United States and Canada, offering diesel and gasoline fueling services, more than 500 full- and quick-service restaurants, 24-hour convenience stores, heavy truck maintenance and other services.

TA and Petro also announced the availability of the TND 760 Electronic On-board Recorder (EOBR) from Rand McNally in response to the Surface Transportation Act of 2012, which mandates the use of EOBRs for hours of service (HOS) logging. The EOBR can be installed by participating TA Truck Service and Petro:Lube service and repair facilities.

The TND 760 logs HOS, tracks fuel efficiency, detects accidents, monitors vehicle maintenance by detecting fault codes, and tracks vehicle location through GPS, WiFi and cellular communication. Specific features depend on the accompanying selected service plan. Owners and fleets can access the data through an easy-to-use web portal.

Drivers can see the TND 760 demonstrated in the TA/Petro booth (#19156) at this year's Mid-America Trucking Show, taking place through Saturday at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville. They can also register at the booth for hourly drawings to win a Cobra 29 LTD Pro Pack or a Rand McNally "Large Scale Motor Carriers' Road Atlas."
