Sunoco A-Plus C-stores Add Citizens ATMs

PHILADELPHIA -- Through an agreement with Citizens Financial Group, parent to Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania, nearly 500 Sunoco A-Plus convenience stores across 13 states throughout the East Coast will see the installation of Citizens Bank ATMs, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported.

Installation of the ATMs is expected to begin in May 2010 and be completed in June. The kiosks will be owned and operated by EDC, a nationwide service provider, according to the report.

A total of 487 new, withdrawal-only ATMs will feature the Citizens Bank logo. Approximately 379 of the devices will be located within Citizens' retail footprint -- including Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island -- while the remaining 108 ATMs will be located outside its footprint, in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.

Pennsylvania will see the most ATMs added, at 207, while New Jersey will have 27 and Delaware six. There will be 108 in New York and 57 in Florida, according to the report.
The ATMs will be surcharge-free for all Citizens Bank and Charter One customers.

In the Philadelphia region, PNC Bank has a similar arrangement with Wawa convenience stores, according to the report, though those ATM machines are surcharge free to non-PNC customers.
