Steve Spinks Takes CEO Role at The Spinx Co.

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Steve Spinks, current president of The Spinx Co., has been named its CEO. He takes title to the position from company founder Stewart Spinks, who now moves to chairman of the board.

The transition took hold in March but the company just officially announced the change. As CEO, Steve Spinks assumes more of the day-to-day operational decisions. As chairman, Stewart Spinks will concentrate on the strategic and long-term planning for the locally headquartered company.

"I know that the company will benefit from Steve's judgment and day-to-day leadership as CEO," said Stewart Spinks. "Of course, I will remain involved and look forward to seeing the company grow with Steve's guidance."

The Spinx Co. operates more than 65 convenience stores in South Carolina and North Carolina. Stewart Spinks started the company in 1972 and has grown into the largest privately held, partial employee-owned gasoline and convenience retailers in South Carolina.

Stewart Spinks was inducted into the Convenience Store News Industry Hall of Fame in November.
