Speedway, BP Top Customer Service Survey

ENON, Ohio -- For the second time in 2008, the Speedway SuperAmerica convenience chain, based here, provided the best customer service during the third quarter in the convenience store category, according to market research firm Corporate Research International’s quarterly RealPeopleRatings.com survey.

Another veteran to the list, BP, placed second after finishing in the top spot during the second quarter. Alimentation Couche-Tard’s Circle K convenience store chain ranked third, marking the first time the chain placed in the top three this year.

"It's increasingly important in today's marketplace for companies to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction to keep their customers coming back," Michael Mallett, CEO of Corporate Research International, said in a statement. "Every interaction customers have with a business impacts overall perception, so an ongoing effort to maintain all areas keeps scores high. Looking at the customer experience from all angles is ultimately what keeps customers happy."

Respondents were asked to rate their perception of each business' customer service on a scale of one to 10, with 10 being the highest rating. If a respondent did not have experience with the business, the panelist did not enter a score.

RealPeopleRatings.com was launched in 2005 by Corporate Research International, based in Findlay, Ohio. The company sends quarterly surveys as online opinion polls to its pool of panelists; 3,000 panelists participated in the third-quarter survey.
