Shell to Sponsor Pacific Oil Conference

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Pacific Oil Conference (POC) announced that Shell Oil Products U.S. is the inaugural Showcase Sponsor for the 2003 Pacific Oil Conference.

In addition to becoming the first Showcase Sponsor, Shell has also committed to imaging the POC's key tradeshow attraction, the convenience store display. This is a 3,000 square-foot display area containing a fully imaged facsimile of a modern convenience store. The c-store display is utilized to highlight products and offerings, and is one of the most popular displays on the trade show floor.

In its 44th year of operation, the conference is the longest continuing trade show and educational convention on the West Coast. It will be held September 16 to 18 in Reno, Nev.

Russell Caplan, vice president retail for Shell Oil Products and Motiva Enterprises LLC is also scheduled to be the keynote speaker September 17th.

The Pacific Oil Conference is a key annual gathering for independent oil marketers from West Coast states. This year, the National Association of Shell and Texaco Marketers (NASTM) is joining the Pacific Oil Conference for a combined convention and tradeshow, including their annual membership meetings and Board of Directors meetings.

The POC is governed by representatives from four state oil marketer trade organizations, including:
* The California Independent Oil Marketers Association;
* The Nevada Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association;
* The Oregon Petroleum Marketers Association; and
* The Washington Oil Marketers Association.

Combined, these organizations represent approximately 1,100 petroleum product retailers and wholesalers and thousands of retail outlets.
