Shell Hosts Second Wave of Gas Giveaways

HOUSTON -- Shell is at it again. The major oil company is hosting a wave of gasoline giveaways in four cities across the country. Today's promotion comes two weeks after Shell's "Protect and Save" Gasoline Giveaways kicked off its first round in Seattle, Houston, San Francisco and Miami.

After generating buzz during the first wave, "Protect and Save" is now hitting select gas stations in New York, Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth and Portland, Ore. The special promotion period will last for 90 minutes, according to the company.

The Shell station selected and the start time in each city were announced on Shell's "On the Road" Facebook page and through a local radio station at 6 a.m. local time, letting motorists experience Shell Nitrogen Enriched Gasolines for free while being able to learn more about ways to save at Shell. Every vehicle that arrives at the designated Shell station within the promotional period will receive up to 15 free gallons of regular-grade Shell Nitrogen Enriched Gasoline.

The giveaway took place this morning at the Shell station at 34-17 Northern Blvd in Queens, N.Y., and 570 Dekalb Industrial Way in Decatur, Ga., from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. EST. It continued at the Shell station at 14205 Trinity Blvd. in Fort Worth, from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. CST and at 621 SE Grand Ave. in Portland, from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. PST.
