Sheetz Sets Out to Hire More Than 3,400 Employees

ALTOONA, Pa. — Sheetz Inc. is hanging help wanted signs on its convenience stores.

The convenience retailer plans to hire more than 3,400 employees companywide, and will begin open interviews for full-time and part-time positions beginning May 3 at all 550 locations.

With the hiring initiative, the company's goal is to increase total employee count and number of full-time positions by creating and filling jobs at stores throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and North Carolina.

"We are excited to welcome new employees into the Sheetz family," said Stephanie Doliveira, vice president of human resources at Sheetz. "Our employees are our most valuable asset and we're deeply committed to investing in our people by providing competitive wages, a wide range of benefits and most importantly, a clear path to growth with the support network to achieve it."

The company offers competitive pay and benefits packages to employees, including medical and dental insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, college tuition reimbursement, an employee stock ownership plan, flexible schedules, opportunities for advancement, bonuses, vacation time and more.

Earlier this year, Altoona-based Sheetz was ranked No. 87 on the 100 Best Companies to Work For list, compiled by Fortune and Great Place to Work. The retailer scored highest when it comes to offering "great rewards" and "great communication," with 93 percent of employees agreeing that they feel good about the ways they contribute to the community, as CSNews Online previously reported.
