Sheetz Opens Doors at Newest West Virginia Location

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc. is continuing its aggressive expansion, opening its newest location in Beaver, W. Va., near Beckley today.

The convenience store at 810 Ritter Drive is the company's second in the area. The retailer opened its first Beckley area location on Robert C. Byrd Drive in February.

As with other recent store openings, the Pennsylvania-based c-store operator awarded the first 50 people in line when the doors opened with a $100 Sheetz Z-card. This award, coupled with buzz surrounding Sheetz in general, has led to customers camping out as early as 4:30 a.m. at other grand openings in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. Doors officially opened to customers this morning at 11:00 a.m.

"People are lined up and waiting when we get to the store to cut the ribbon," Stan Sheetz, company president and CEO, said in a news release. "We can't wait to serve new customers and work to give them the best-ever experience in our stores. We love to see them being as excited as we are to open."

The 6,500-square-foot facility will offer fresh food items such as the MTGo! and Shweetz Bakery lines of sandwiches, wraps, doughnuts and muffins, along with the signature MTO line of Angus beef burgers, premium grilled chicken sandwiches, freshly made salads, French fries, onion rings and more. Sheetz Bros. Coffeez, a full-service espresso and smoothie bar staffed by a trained barista, will also be available at the Beaver store.

As part of the grand opening, the company will make a donation to Special Olympics West Virginia.
