Sheetz to Launch Discounted E85 Ethanol Blended Fuel Promotion

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz, Inc. will offer VeraSun's VE85 fuel at 85 cents per gallon as part of a special five-hour promotion on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at three Sheetz, Inc. locations in Pittsburgh, Pa., the company reported.

"Sheetz, Inc. is thrilled to have the opportunity to make this biofuel, VE85, available to our customers at an even greater low price," said Louie Sheetz, executive vice-president of marketing for Sheetz, Inc. "VE85 is new to a lot of consumers, and we hope that 85 cents per gallon will encourage flex-fuel vehicle owners to try a tank of this renewable fuel option."

VE85, VeraSun's brand of E85, is a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. On July 10, 2006, Sheetz, Inc. joined VeraSun Energy Corp., General Motors Corp., and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to bring VeraSun E85, an ethanol-based renewable fuel to Pittsburgh. Sheetz, Inc. was the first chain retailer in Pennsylvania to begin selling E85.

Additionally, Governor Edward G. Rendell selected Sheetz, Inc. in October 2006 to receive the prestigious Renewable Agricultural Energy Council Leadership Award based the company's pioneering efforts at renewable energy and biofuel development and deployment in Pennsylvania.
