Sheetz Hits 400th Mark With Chambersburg, Pa. Store

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Tomorrow's grand opening of the newest Sheetz location in Chambersburg will mark a milestone for the company. With the turning of the key, the site will become the 400th convenience store in the Sheetz portfolio.

The newest store is situated at Wayne and Kriner roads. According to PublicOpinionOnline.com, hundreds of customers are expected at the store as Sheetz gives away 400 gallons of free gas and $6,000 in gift cards beginning at 11 a.m. The first 50 customers in line will also receive $100 gift cards and one customer will receive a $1,000 Sheetz Z-Card.

The new 5,700-square-foot store brings the total number of Sheetz locations in the Chambersburg area to four. It will employ between 35 and 45 employees.

In addition to giveaways to celebrate the grand opening, the Altoona, Pa.-based convenience store operator will make a donation to Special Olympics Pennsylvania. The retailer has supported this cause since 1992.

"Our customers have come to expect the best from Sheetz," Stan Sheetz, president and CEO, said in a statement. "That is why this new store is so important. The milestone of reaching 400 stores is special, but the new store gives us a higher level of excellence in service to provide to our customers."

Sheetz will be busy tomorrow. The company is also adding to its Ohio presence with a new store opening just south of Cleveland. The grand opening for that 6,500-square-foot location on Ridge Road in Parma, will begin at 11 a.m. and the first 50 customers in line will receive a $100 gift card.

"It is always exciting for us to expand into new areas," Sheetz said. "The Greater Cleveland marker is wonderful and we are thrilled to begin serving the people of Parma."

The c-store company will make a donation to Special Olympics Ohio in honor of the grand opening.

As CSNews Online reported earlier this summer, Sheetz is experiencing a growth spurt and is aiming to reach 500 stores within the next three years.
