SavOn Opens First New Store in 10 Years

ONEIDA, N.Y. — SavOn Convenience Stores opened its first new store in 10 years on Friday, according to an Indian Country Today report. The grand opening at 603 Genesee St. in Chittenango, N.Y., featured guest DJs from radio station Big Frog 104, in-store and at-pump promotions, and several giveaways.

"Opening our first SavOn store in Chittenango is an exciting time for us and the response from the community has been overwhelming," said SavOn's Director of Operations Sean Brown. "Guests can expect to receive our unparalleled level of guest service, competitively priced fuel and cigarettes, and fun, engaging promotions."

During the grand-opening event, customers were able to meet Big Frog 104 DJs and win prizes such as a retro Budweiser bike, iPod Shuffle, mini stereo, EZ Up tent, hammock and multiple gift cards and travel mugs.

The new 2,000-square-foot SavOn store features a wider selection of cigarette brands, Green Mountain Coffee and Stone Hearth Express, a foodservice offering that includes grab-and-go sandwiches, salads and pizza. The beer section of the cold vault stocks a variety of imported and domestic brews, including a large selection of craft beer brands such as Southern Tier, Lagunitas, 21st Amendment and Dogfish Head.
