Sam's Mart Stores Selects Gilbarco's Passport
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Sam's Mart Corp., operator of convenience stores based here, chose Gilbarco Veeder-Root's Passport for its point of sale system at 31 of its stores. The stores, which are Shell-branded and already have Gilbarco fuel dispensers, are located in the Atlanta metro area.
"We are impressed with Passport's intuitive and intelligent touch screen technology," said Medhat 'Matt' Karout, vice president, Sam's Mart Atlanta. "It is very easy for our associates to learn and use and it shortens transaction time and lines for our customers. Passport has also added a number of new features that modernize technology for store operation."
The Passport system will give Sam's Mart merchandising tools that integrate with a number of the chain's in-store devices.
