Rutter's Farm Stores Seeing Double

YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's Farm Stores plans to double the size of its store here, the York Daily Record reported. The new 5,000-square-foot facility is to include a 16-pump fueling station, expanded services and an automatic car wash.

The company plans to raze the former Concentra building west of the current store and the building housing Collectors Toys & Trains to the south.

Rutter's hopes to begin work in early 2008, pending approval from city planners.

Scott Hartman, company president, said the expansion fits in with the chain's ongoing plans. "We're constantly trying to build new stores and keep our current format," he told the Record.

Rutter's operates 51 convenience stores in York, Adams, Franklin, Cumberland and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania.
