Rutter's Expands Store Reach in Home State

YORK, Pa. — Rutter's expanded into a new region of Pennsylvania with the opening of its 65th convenience store in Hamburg. The store, located on Grand Street near Hamburg Area High School and approximately one mile off Interstate 78's exit 30, is the chain's first in Berks County.

The 7,800-square-foot store staffs 50 new employees and has 12 automotive fueling positions, four dedicated high-speed diesel bays for trucks and buses, and will operate 24 hours a day. Inside the store, Rutter's regular menu and fresh dairy beverages are available while the dining area seats more than 30 guests and offers free Wi-Fi.

The store also has a walk-in beer cave and wine section that will be open in late October, pending final license approval.

"We have had many requests from customers about bringing a store to the Hamburg area," said Derek Gaskins, Rutter's chief customer officer. "We are very excited to be able to fulfill the needs of our growing customer base with the new store. Its location right off Interstate 78 will also provide easy access for commuters."

Fresh-baked pizza, Bada Bing shrimp, jumbo wings, 100-percent Angus beef burgers and other premium options are available via touchscreen food ordering kiosks. Available hand-crafted beverages include gourmet coffees, frappes, lattes, espresso drinks, fresh fruit smoothies and Red Bull smoothies.

A grand opening event will be held at the store on Tuesday, Nov. 1 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m, when attendees can enjoy food samples, radio station giveaways and more.

York-based Rutter’s is a family-owned convenience store chain operating more than 60 locations throughout central Pennsylvania.
