Russell's C-stores Selects Wincor Nixdorf
AUSTIN, Texas -- More than a dozen company-owned Russell's Convenience Store locations added Wincor Nixdorf's BEETLE iPOS (point-of-sale) hardware and NAMOS software solutions. Under an agreement by the two companies, additional installations are planned for licensees throughout 2008, Wincor stated.
The BEETLE iPOS technology incorporates Wincor Nixdorf's NAMOS software to provide Russell's an efficient POS system that also incorporates the company's proprietary Tenderfoot back office suite, according to the company.
Following a three-month testing period, Wincor Nixdorf delivered a full store implementation in 7 days, the company stated.
"After implementation, we quickly realized POS transaction time improved by nearly 40 percent, which in our retail landscape is a very significant improvement," Ray Huff, president of Russell's parent company, HJB Convenience, headquartered in Denver, Colo., and operating 25 stores, said in a statement. "Also, by integrating our Tenderfoot back office solution with Wincor Nixdorf's NAMOS software, our closing process immediately ran significantly faster, saving nearly a half hour per day, per store and reduced wages across our chain. Needless to say, this level of efficiency and ease of use made working with Wincor Nixdorf a very profitable decision."
The next-generation BEETLE line builds on more than 20 years of experience, and features technology based on Intel Pentium M and sealed chassis BEETLE. Wincor Nixdorf's NAMOS software features a modular and component-based architecture, entirely based on Microsoft platforms and technologies, the company stated.
