Road Ranger Acquires Seven C-Stores and Travel Centers

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Road Ranger LLC, operator of the Midwestern chain of Road Ranger convenience stores and travel centers, recently completed the acquisition of seven c-store and travel centers from four separate companies.

Three stores in Dubuque, Iowa, were acquired earlier this month from Dubuque Discount Gas, while last month, the company acquired a single store in Okawville, Ill., from Karko LLC. In late June, Road Ranger purchased two stores in northern Illinois from R&B Express Mart, and in May, the company bought one store in Hartford, Ill., from Parson's Oil.

These acquisitions follow a previously announced purchase of two Grand Prix locations in northern Illinois and six QuikTrip locations in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Including these stores, the number of locations Road Ranger has acquired during fiscal 2007 totals 15. The purchases add to the company’s goal of operating 100 stores by the end of 2008, the company stated.

In addition, Road Ranger is set to close on three acquisitions in the next 90 days.

The company is also upgrading its network of stores, most recently finishing the raze and rebuild of three Clark stores it purchased in 2003 -- in Belvedere, Ill., South Beloit, Ill. and Hampshire, Ill.

In addition, the company opened two new travel centers in Champaign, Ill. and Fenton, Mo., and opened a Subway franchise in Hampshire, Ill., bringing the number of Subway franchises the company operates to 17.
