Retail Executive Summit to Explore Strategies to Engage & Persuade Shoppers

LAGUNA, Calif. — Retail is getting personal. A one-to-one relationship with shoppers matters more now than ever before. Strategies for success in this environment must focus on engaging, influencing and persuading shoppers that your products, services and brand are deserving of their trust.

These are the themes that will be featured at the 2016 Retail Executive Summit, hosted by RIS News at the Montage Resort in Laguna, Calif., on June 22-24. RIS News is a sister publication of Convenience Store News, both part of the Stagnito Business Information + Edgell Communications portfolio.

The principles of engagement and persuasion that work for shoppers also apply to retailers’ internal teams and in-store workforce. This is especially important as the millennial generation becomes the dominant demographic. Experts taking part in the summit will also explore the key theme of how to deliver effective leadership in the age of personalization.

The Retail Executive Summit’s robust agenda of sessions will feature such expert speakers as:

  • Julie Averil, chief information officer, REI
  • Deanna Steele, vice president of Brand IT, Lane Bryant
  • John Hazen, vice president of Omnichannel Commerce & Innovation, True Religion
  • Bill Garcia, partner, TableForce
  • Mario Herger, partner and founder, Enterprise Gamification

The Retail Executive Summit will also feature the RIS News CIO of the Year Award gala event, which recognizes the top CIOs in retail for their achievements in converging IT and innovation into business strategies that drive performance and profit.
