Redner's Markets Will Up Its C-store Count to 17

READING, Pa. -- Redner's Markets Inc. is opening a new Quick Shoppe in its hometown that will measure approximately 6,000 square feet and offer several new features not found within its existing Quick Shoppe convenience stores.

The new Reading/Muhlenberg Township Quick Shoppe, which is scheduled to open this fall and will be the chain's 17th c-store, will have an expanded foodservice area focusing on a wider variety of fresh, made-to-order of subs, sandwiches, soups and baked pizza, plus an expanded coffee and cold beverage bar.

The store will employ the use of touchscreen ordering systems from Retalix to allow shoppers to customize their food selections. In addition, customers will find an array of convenience items within dairy, health and beauty aids/non-foods and grocery departments.

The Quick Shoppe's fuel station will feature eight pumps and allow customers to take advantage of Redner's Pump Perks loyalty program. A new addition to this site will be a fully automatic, hands-free car wash. Customers will have the option to choose from four car wash varieties ranging from economy to deluxe.

The store will employ approximately 10 people in both full- and part-time positions.

Along with its new convenience store, Redner's also plans to open a new Warehouse Market in Hegins, Pa., bringing its count of full-service grocery stores to 41. The Warehouse Market, also slated to open this fall, will be located in the Midway Shopping Center and be Redner's fourth store in Schuylkill County.

Renovations to the existing building -- formerly a Midway Supermarket -- will begin immediately and the completed store will measure approximately 40,000 square feet. The Warehouse Market will be a full-service grocery store offering services such as in-store bakery, full-service deli, seafood, produce and meat departments, along with frozen, dairy, health and beauty aids/non-foods and grocery departments.

This store will have a self-service fuel station, where customers will be able to take advantage of Redner's Pump Perks fuel discount program. Since its inception in 2008, Pump Perks fuel has saved Redner's customers more than $2.5 million in fuel purchases, according to the grocer.

Reading, Pa.-based Redner's Markets operates Quick Shoppes and Warehouse Markets throughout eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware.
