QuikTrip Moving Into More Texas Markets

TULSA, Okla. — QuikTrip will be expanding to the San Antonio and Austin, Texas markets in the near future, the retailer announced today.

The first QuikTrip stores in San Antonio and Austin are expected to open sometime in summer 2018. By this coming winter, QuikTrip will have commenced construction on the first of more than 100 stores that are going to open in the region.

“We’ve heard from a number of enthusiastic QT fans in San Antonio and Austin familiar with us from their travels, urging us to expand there,” said QuikTrip CEO Chet Cadieux. “Both San Antonio and Austin are really hot markets right now and we cannot wait to join the exciting landscape in those two great communities. If you aren’t familiar with us yet, you are in for a real treat!”

QuikTrip already operates 199 stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro area, which it entered back in 1999. The Tulsa-based retailer announced in March that it would begin offering E15 fuel at 44 of its conveniences stores in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Earlier this month, Cadiex was ranked No. 28 in the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards, based on voluntarily and anonymously provided employee input. Cadieux, who also serves as chairman and president of QuikTrip Corp., was inducted into the Convenience Store News Hall of Fame in 2016.

Tulsa-based QuikTrip operates more than 700 convenience stores in 11 states.
