Quick Chek Takes on the Flu

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. -- Quick Chek, a 120-unit convenience store chain throughout New Jersey and southern New York, is currently offering flu shots, free of charge, to each of its 2,300 employees.

In addition, the company's new 2009 flu shot program -- an extension of its Fit for Life preventive employee health services initiative -- provides complimentary flu shots for each dependent of Quick Chek employees enrolled in its health benefits program.

"The health of our team members and their families is extremely important to us," Nancy Rumpf, Quick Chek's leader of benefits and recognition. "We are proud to offer each of our employees the opportunity to help protect themselves against the flu, and have seen our program participation rate nearly double since the launch of this year's effort."

Quick Chek's pharmacy locations also have held a series of October flu shot clinics for customers throughout its New Jersey operating area. Three additional clinics are scheduled to be held in Parlin, Passaic and Milltown, N.J., where flu shots are $30 each.

Quick Chek's locations include 12 pharmacy stores and 23 locations with fuel.
