Pilot Flying J to Employ More Driver Service Champions

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Pilot Flying J will roll out its Driver Service Champion (DSC) initiative to an additional 26 stores. The travel center operator now offers this position at 129 travel centers and travel plazas across North America.

DSC is intended to meet the needs of professional drivers by keeping the lines moving at fuel islands by expediting the fueling process, as well as maintaining cleanliness and stocking necessary amenities. In addition, DSC helps professional drivers with transactions and offers in-store assistance.

“We are committed to making every facet of the driving experience better for professional drivers,” Pilot Flying J CEO Jimmy Haslam said. “The feedback we have received about the DSC position has been extremely positive. We rolled out this full-service program to professional drivers in 2012 and we’ll continue to add the position to more locations.”

Pilot Flying J also announced that 52 Goodyear Commercial Tire Centers (aka Wingfoot) and 44 Boss Shops are now accepting the company’s MyRewards loyalty cards. Drivers will earn one point per dollar spent, and can use points to pay for maintenance services or other in-store merchandise.

“We hope this new MyRewards benefit will help show our gratitude to all the loyal drivers who do business with us and our partners,” said Ken Parent, Pilot Flying J’s chief operating officer. “We take great pride in our business partnerships and we are excited to extend our MyRewards program to Goodyear Commercial Tire Centers and Boss Shops.”

Knoxville-based Pilot Flying J is the largest operator of travel centers and travel plazas in North America. It has more than 650 retail locations, more than 65,000 parking spaces for trucks, 4,400 showers and more than 4,000 diesel lanes offering diesel exhaust fluid.
