Harry J. Longwell, executive vice president and director of Exxon Mobil Corp., will retire at the end of the year after spending more than 41 years with the company, including nearly 10 years as a director. Longwell began his career at Exxon as a drilling engineer. He was named president of Exxon Co. USA in 1992 and executive vice president of Exxon Mobil Corp in 2001.

ExxonMobil expects its board of directors to make a number of appointments between now and the end of the year to redistribute Longwell's current responsibilities. The board is expected to elect S.R. McGill, current president of ExxonMobil Production Co. in Houston, to be a senior vice president of Exxon Mobil Corp. McGill joined Exxon in 1978. After the company merged with Mobil Oil Corp. in 1999, McGill was appointed president of ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing Co., then moved into his current position in July 2003.

M.E. Foster, currently president of ExxonMobil Development Co. in Houston, is expected to be named president of ExxonMobil Production Co. and a vice president of the corporation. Foster joined Exxon in 1965. M.W. Albers, executive assistant to the chairman and president of Exxon Mobil Corp, will succeed Foster as president of EMDC. Albers joined ExxonMobil in 1979. All three appointments are expected to take effect Oct. 1.
