NEC Debuts POS Technology at NACS Show

IRVING, Texas -- Among products introduced at this year’s National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) were two point-of-sale (POS) transaction management systems designed for retailers by NEC Corp.

Naohide Takatani, general manager, Retail Solutions Division of NEC Corp. of America, explained the TwinPOS 5500 and TwinPOS 3500 POS terminals were designed especially for convenience stores, grocery stores and restaurants.

"NEC’s enhanced POS offerings of software, hardware and custom POS solution development provide dependable quality and reliability for retailers," Takatani said in a released statement.

NEC’s TwinPOS 5500, he noted, operates on either Microsoft Windows Embedded for the Point of Service (WEPOS) or Linux.

"Our customers will continue to have the flexibility to purchase individual components or a complete solution package to meet their unique needs," Takatani said in a released statement.
